Best known for her iconic bait bags (originally from lobstering) handcrafted into beautiful handbags, Alaina Marie is a talented Maine-based bag designer and thriving creative spirit. Alaina began designing bags in 2013, starting out with an Etsy shop. As fate would have it, her dream and love for all things handcrafted soon turned into reality. Her mission is to create functional, luxurious products by using high quality, locally sourced materials (when possible) to create beautiful, handcrafted, and fashionable accessories and handbags.
Born and raised off the coast of Maine and inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her, Alaina has always been creative. To take things a step further, she majored in art and minored in entrepreneurship.
Inspiration struck from a lobsterman’s bait bag, and Alaina became first known for her iconic mesh handbags, made from marine-grade materials. Still to this day, each handbag we create is durable, authentic, and ready to go wherever life takes you.
